Some Simpson Strong-Tie mechanical anchors will require a specific installation torque for proper setting. Where it is not practical to measure the torque, tighten the anchor 3-5 turns from the finger tight position. This procedure has been found to approximately develop the suggested torque values.

Concrete is considered green if it has cured less than 28 days. Mechanical anchors should not be installed in concrete which is less than 7 days old.

The performance of mechanical anchors installed in green concrete which are torqued and/or loaded prior to full cure of the concrete, should be based on the actual compressive strength of the concrete at the time the torque or load was applied.

The distance from the top surface of the base material to the installed end of the anchor. In the case of a post-installed mechanical anchor, the embedment depth is measured prior to application of the installation torque.
