Version 3.0
- Simpson mechanical anchor tested in accordance with AC355.2 and ICC-ES AC193 is added.
- Titen-HD screw anchor in both cracked and uncracked concrete.
- Titen-HD screw anchor in soffit of normal-weight and sand-lightweight concrete over metal deck.
- New Simpson adhesive anchors tested in accordance with ICC-ES AC308 are added.
- IXP anchor with SET-XP epoxy adhesive in both cracked and uncracked concrete.
- SET-XP epoxy adhesive anchor with various steel inserts in both cracked and uncracked concrete.
- Steel grade selection is added for cast-in-place heavy hex bolt and L-bolt. User now can select steel grade of either ASTM F1554 Grade 36, 55 or 105.
- 7/8" diameter is added for heavy hex bolt and L-bolt.
- Strong-Bolt installation in soffit of normal-weight and sand-lightweight concrete over metal deck is added.
- Strong Bolt anchor category is updated from category 2 to 1 for 1/2" and 5/8" diameter anchors.
- Updated to reflect latest information from Simpson Anchoring and Fastening Systems catalog, C-SAS-2008 (PDF to be released on this website in May 2008).
- Updated help file.
Version 2.0.1.1
- Updated 1/2" and 5/8" diameter Strong-Bolt Anchor Category from 2 to 1.
- Shear breakout calculation is updated to limit parallel to edge strengths by twice the perpendicular to edge strengths, as applicable, as detailed in ACI Appendix D Section D.6.2.1(c).
- Updated help file.
Version 2.0
- Shear breakout calculation is updated to reflect the methodology in ACI 318 Appendix D Commentary Section RD.6.2.1.
- Shear pryout calculation is updated to consider all anchors in the base plate regardless of applied tension loads at each anchor.
- Installation of untorqued cast-in-place anchor near concrete edge is provided as an option.
- Anchor embedment depths available at 0.25 inch increments.
- Improved tool tip and user input interface.
- Calculation output is updated to display an interaction equation and a summary sentence.
- Updated help file.
Version 1.4
- If Sand-Lightweight aggregate concrete is selected for post-installed anchors, all values of Nn and Vn affected by √f'c and Npn will be multiplied by 0.60. All-Lightweight aggregate concrete to be beyond the scope of the design provisions. (These requirements are based on ICC-ES AC193 and Simpson's assessment of available test data in Sand-Lightweight concrete.) For more information, read important information regarding ICC-ES's revised design recommendations for ACI 318 Appendix D (PDF).
- Updated catalog page.
Version 1.3
- Prevent user from selecting
c,V < 1.4 for uncracked concrete. - The program retains more information when saving files.
- Maximum anchor spacing used in concrete tension breakout calculation is limited to three times the effective anchor embedment for three edge condition.
- Minor rounding error for
cp,N corrected. - Limit f'c per ACI 318-05 Appendix D Section D.3.5 prior to applying adjustment factor for lightweight concrete per Section D.3.4.
Version 1.2
-
Concrete tension breakout area calculation has been revised when adjustment per ACI 318-05 Appendix D Section D.5.2.3 is applicable.
-
Concrete shear breakout area calculation has been revised for shear load applied in y-direction.
Version 1.1
At the input tab, the condition of the concrete is limited to being "cracked" when also considering seismic. Within the application, the calculation of the demand/capacity ratio for both tension-steel and tension-pullout have been modified.
